What is a Brushless Motor?

While the conventional electric motor works by electricity running through 2 carbon brushes and through a wire wound armature, that is opposed by a magnetic field surrounding it. The magnetic field can either be utilised by 2 permanent magnets, or it can be induced by 2 or more electromagnetic poles. When power is applied to those poles, a magnetic field is created, whilst being opposed by the armature, which in turn creates motion.
